Donald Nelson DMD

"I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families. I look forward to meeting new people and establishing relationships. I also look forward to renewing and strengthening relationships with established patients.

As a dentist, every day I have opportunities to make positive impacts in people’s lives. Dentistry is rewarding for so many reasons: I’m able to help people feel better about their smiles, relieve a person’s pain, and restore someone’s ability to chew comfortably.

I enjoy the variety that comes with each day. Every patient is different, with different clinical and personal needs. Whether I’m doing a filling or a crown or replacing a tooth, I get excited about improving that person’s oral health" — Dr. Donald Nelson, Jr.

A native of Springfield, Dr. Nelson graduated from Effingham County High School. He now lives in Rincon with his wife Carrie and their two children, Braydon and Claire.

Most of his time away from the office is spent with his family. Whether its watching Claire dance, listening to her play piano in Church or playing golf with Braydon, his children keep him busy.

Dr. Nelson likes to stay in shape, he enjoys running, going to the gym, and riding his bike. He is also an avid reader but struggles to find time for it. He does, however, find time to follow college football, especially The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
